New Greek Restaurant and Bluey Comes to San Mateo!

Burlingame police promote new chief and modern greek food comes to Bay Meadows.

🚔 Burlingame Names New Police Chief

After a months-long search, Burlingame has selected San Francisco police veteran Raj Vaswani as its new Chief of Police. Vaswani brings three decades of law enforcement experience and a strong commitment to community engagement.

City officials praised his collaborative leadership style and deep knowledge of Bay Area public safety issues. Vaswani led a range of units at SFPD from investigations to field operations, and was instrumental in developing transparency initiatives and modern policing strategies. Vaswani said he’s committed to strengthening partnerships with local residents, local businesses, and schools to build a strong, connected community. Read more here.

🏠 Peninsula Celebrates National Night Out

This Tuesday, neighborhoods across the Peninsula celebrated National Night Out! The evening is geared towards strengthening neighborhood unity and developing relationships between the community and their City.

San Mateo, Belmont, Millbrae, and Half Moon Bay were among the cities hosting large community celebrations while residents hosted block parties in their neighborhoods. Local police and fire departments visited many block parties, giving residents the opportunity to interact with police officers, firefighters, and city staff. Bahche Mezzehouse & Wine Bar Celebrates Grand Opening!

Bahche Mezzehouse & Wine Bar had their grand opening this week in San Mateo! Bahche is bringing a modern twist to Greek and Mediterranean cuisine that transports you to the heart of Greece. They’re offering dinner service starting from 4:30pm this week with lunch service planning to start next week. Entree’s we’d recommend trying are the Seafood Paella or Lamb Chops! Opened in 2024 in Monaco Plaza, Taste & Glory offers an inventive brunch menu blending Asian flavors with American breakfast classics. Expect imaginative dishes like tom yum scramble, Thai‑tea French toast, crab cake Benedicts, and chicken croffles drizzled with chili‑maple syrup. You’ll also find vegan scrambles and sweet treats! The chic dining room features marble accents and sleek wooden furniture—the perfect backdrop for a menu that merges comfort and a modern feel.
